Meet Josh.
Josh is 12 years old.
Josh survived cancer.
Through a strong support group, a dedicated mother, and his martial arts – he’s been through much more than any 12 year should ever have to go through. He needs help. Please watch the video below. The Dragon Slayer Event coming up September 29th 2012 Josh has a team, called Josh The Wonder. Can you be apart of it?
The DRAGONSLAYER Hike, Bike, Trike is a 5 K walk/run/bike event that helps raise awareness of sarcoma and support sarcoma patients and their families.
Sarcoma is a cancer of the connective tissues, such as nerves, muscles, cartilage, joints, bones, or blood vessels, which can arise anywhere in the body. Approximately12,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year—half of whom are children—and nearly 6,000 people die each year from this dreaded disease. Sarcoma accounts for approximately 1% of all adult cancers and 15% of childhood cancers. In the Pacific Northwest alone we expect that another 400 people will be diagnosed this year with sarcoma. There is currently no cure, and it tends to resist current treatment regimens. Research funding for sarcoma is minuscule by comparison to better known cancers such as leukemia or melanoma.
A young cancer patient coined the phrase “DRAGONSLAYER” to give a name to his fight against sarcoma. It is our goal to win this fight! Our event raises money for and education about sarcoma as well as for sarcoma research.
Aim High Martial Arts student, Josh Brenneman, is a sarcoma survivor! Join his team or donate to his team, “Team Josh–THE WONDER!”, by registering/donating online at Northwest Sarcoma Foundation website - www.nwsarcoma.org
