My name is BSBN Taylor, I’m a second black belt at Aim High Academy of Martial Arts. When I was six years old, I met SBN Danny Sikkens. He was a springy young man who was working his dream out of the corner of an athletic club. Aim High Martial Arts was very small and there were barely any instructors or black belts. Now, I’m one of the only original students left from that gym. Why did I keep going for six years? Not only does the physical sport provide great workouts, but the mental aspect behind it all. We do ‘mat chats’ for a reason. But, these lessons aren’t just empty words, they truly help in other parts of your life too. They did with me. When I turned 8, I started teaching other students. I quickly found out that I had a passion for the little warriors. Now after the Dare to Dream test, I am able to spend my time doing what I love- teaching and martial arts- with those people I have grown so close to. At least that is my point of view as a thirteen year old black belt.
